Yes, Freecash is legit. It is a real rewards site and app run by Almedia GmbH, a company registered in Berlin, Germany, and it has paid users since 2020. Freecash says it has given back more than $400 million in rewards, and it holds a 4.6 out of 5 on Trustpilot from more than 327,000 reviews. The money is real, but it is small. Freecash’s own site says most users earn from a few dollars up to around $50 in a typical month, and your first cash out needs an ID check plus $5 to $20 in your balance, depending on where you live.
Freecash pays you for playing mobile games, trying apps, taking surveys and shopping through its cash back offers. You cash out by PayPal, Venmo, bank transfer, gift card or crypto, depending on your region.
Good to knowAfter your first withdrawal, PayPal cash outs start at $5 and carry a 5% withdrawal charge.

Is Freecash legit?
Freecash is legit in the two ways that matter most. A named company runs it, and it pays. Here is the evidence, and then the catches.
- A named operator. Freecash’s terms name Almedia GmbH as the company you are dealing with. Almedia’s company page lists an office at Koppenstr. 8 in Berlin and a German commercial register number, HRB 252752 B. Gift card sales to US cardholders run through Almedia USA, Inc. in Delaware.
- A track record. Freecash says it has paid users since 2020, has given back more than $400 million in rewards and has more than 80 million users. Those are its own counts.
- Public ratings. Hundreds of thousands of people have rated it on Trustpilot and in both app stores.
| Where | Rating | Based on |
|---|---|---|
| Trustpilot | 4.6 out of 5, rated Excellent | 327,082 reviews |
| Apple App Store | 4.7 out of 5 | About 149,000 ratings |
| Google Play | 4.5 out of 5 | About 546,000 reviews and 10 million+ downloads |
Ratings as shown on each listing when we checked for this update. They move over time.
Read the Trustpilot score with some care. On Trustpilot, 85% of Freecash’s reviews are five stars and 5% are one star. Trustpilot also notes that Freecash invites its customers to leave reviews, and that Trustpilot does not fact-check them. A high score tells you plenty of people were happy enough to say so. It does not tell you what a typical month pays, so keep reading.
The TikTok ads and the app store removal
There is one more thing a careful reader should know. In April 2026, TechCrunch reported that Apple removed Freecash from the App Store, citing misleading marketing, after ads on TikTok had pitched the app as a way to get paid for scrolling. Google Play removed it days later, according to the same report. Freecash had said those ads were made by third parties, not by Freecash itself, and Almedia told TechCrunch that its apps comply with both stores’ policies and denied using deceptive marketing.
Both apps were listed again when we checked for this update, with the ratings in the table above. The lesson for you is simple. Freecash does not pay you to scroll TikTok. It pays for finishing offers, mostly reaching goals inside mobile games, and its own homepage describes it that way: play games, try new apps, take surveys, earn cash back.
Legit does not mean easy money. Four catches come up in Freecash’s own rules.
- The first cash out is the hard one. You need a verified email, an ID check with a selfie, and $5 to $20 in your balance, depending on your region.
- Offers have to track. A reward only counts when the install is tracked from Freecash’s link and you finish the steps in the offer, often inside a time limit. Freecash’s terms also let it hold offer credits for up to 90 days.
- The big payouts cost time, and sometimes money. Freecash says the small group of users who earn far more than the typical range put in a lot of time and spend a lot of money to get there.
- Accounts get reviewed and closed. One account per person and per household, no VPN, and Freecash can ask for proof of identity, address or purchases during a review.
If those trade-offs sound fine, Freecash is worth a try, and it costs nothing to join.
Is Freecash safe?
Signing up takes an email address, or a Google, Facebook or Apple login. Freecash says there is no card to enter, no subscription and no paid tier.
The real ask comes at your first withdrawal. Freecash checks your identity through a company called Veriff, and you need a valid government-issued ID and a working camera for a selfie. Freecash says it takes about five minutes. If you are not willing to do that, you will not get money out, so decide before you start earning.
Then there is your data. Freecash says it never sells it. Its Google Play listing says the app may share location, personal info and two other types of data with third parties, that data is encrypted in transit and that you can ask for it to be deleted. Two permissions are optional: letting the app read your list of installed apps, and on Android, letting it measure how long you play the games in your offers. Some offers need that second one switched on to credit you.
That is a lot to hand over for pocket money. If it bothers you, skip Freecash.
What is Freecash and how does it work?
Freecash is a get-paid-to site, often shortened to GPT. Game studios and brands pay Freecash to bring them new users. Freecash says it keeps a margin and passes the larger share on to you as rewards.
- Join. It is free, and you need to be at least 16.
- Pick an offer. New accounts start with one featured game, and more of the catalog unlocks as you start offers.
- Hit the goals. Each offer lists what you have to do and what it pays before you start.
- Cash out. PayPal, Venmo, bank transfer, gift cards or crypto, depending on your region.
Whatever your balance shows, Freecash’s terms say rewards have no cash value until you redeem them. That matters if your account is ever closed with a balance in it, so cash out as you go.
The Freecash app
Freecash runs on its website and in apps for iPhone and Android. On the App Store the seller is Almedia Ops UK LTD and the app is rated 4.7. On Google Play it is listed as Freecash: Earn Money, with more than 10 million downloads. Both stores rate the app 17+, even though Freecash’s own terms set the minimum age at 16.
Ways to earn on Freecash
Freecash’s Earn page has four kinds of paid tasks, plus cash back shopping and a few free extras. Here is what each one involves and what Freecash itself says about it.
| Way to earn | What you do | What Freecash says |
|---|---|---|
| Game offers | Install a mobile or PC game through Freecash and reach goals such as a set level | The main path for new accounts. Goals often come with a time limit |
| Other offers | Sign up for an app or service, or start a trial | Usually faster than game offers, and they pay less |
| Partner offers | Game offers from Freecash’s offer wall partners | You start and finish them inside Freecash |
| Surveys | Answer multiple-choice questions about brands and shopping habits | Usually under 10 minutes. You see the reward and the time first |
| Cash back | Shop through the app | A share of each purchase comes back as rewards. Offered in some regions only |
| Weekly lottery and codes | Collect free tickets and enter the codes Freecash gives out | Free to enter. Prizes change from draw to draw |
One account covers all of them. Start with a game you would play anyway. That is where Freecash points new accounts, and it is where the welcome bonus sits.
Game offers
Games are the heart of Freecash. You pick a game, install it through Freecash’s link, and get paid as you hit milestones such as reaching a level. Three things decide whether you get paid.
- It has to be a new install. Freecash asks whether you have installed the game before. If you have, that offer will not credit, so pick a different game.
- Tracking has to be on. The game asks for permission to track when you open it. Freecash says accepting is required to get credit.
- The clock is running. Your My Offers page shows how long you have left for each task.
Rewards arrive in pieces as you hit each milestone, and Freecash says some games pay out over days or weeks. Treat the number on an offer as the most it can pay, not what you get for installing the game.
Some of the highest-paying offers only pay in full if you spend first, through an in-game purchase, a paid trial or a deposit with the advertiser. Those are optional. Freecash has said most offers are free and that purchases are optional unless the offer says otherwise. Read the offer page before you start, and skip anything that asks for money you would not have spent anyway.
Surveys
Surveys are multiple-choice questions about brands and shopping habits, and Freecash says most take under 10 minutes. You see the reward and the estimated time before you start. You are paid for surveys you finish and that pass validation, so answer honestly and keep your answers consistent.
Some surveys ask sensitive questions, about health for example, to see whether you qualify. Freecash’s privacy policy says it only collects those answers from adults who opt in.
Apps, trials and cash back
The rest of the Earn page is sign-ups and trials. Freecash says most of these just need a sign-up, some ask for extra steps or a trial, and each offer page lists exactly what is required and what it pays. If an offer starts a free trial, put the cancel date in your calendar the same day.
Cash back works like a shopping portal. You shop through the Freecash app and a share of the purchase comes back as rewards. Freecash’s terms say cash back is only available in certain regions or for certain users.
How the Freecash $10 welcome bonus works
New members can get a $10 welcome bonus. It is real, but it is not paid for signing up alone. These are the conditions on Freecash’s own help pages.
- It depends on your region. Freecash says not every new account is eligible.
- You have to verify your email address before it is released.
- It is tied to your first offer. Freecash’s beginner guide says you claim it by completing your first game offer, and its bonus page says the credit is added once you start your first offer. Do not count it until it shows in your balance.
- It is account credit. It lands in your Freecash balance, so the first withdrawal rules below still stand between you and the cash.
Freecash also has three kinds of codes. A sign-up code is entered when you register, and you can only use one. Bonus codes add cash to your balance, and lottery codes add tickets for the weekly draw. Freecash gives them out through its social channels and giveaways. Be wary of any site promising a huge sign-up code. Freecash says the sign-up bonus is always $10 of account credit.
Want to try for it? Sign up for Freecash, verify your email, and start with a game you have never installed.
How Freecash pays you
Freecash pays in cash, gift cards or crypto. The options you see depend on your region, and your first withdrawal has extra rules.
| Method | Minimum and charge | Freecash’s stated timing |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | $5 to $200 per withdrawal, with a 5% withdrawal charge | Usually the same day |
| Venmo | Shown on your Cashout page | Usually the same day |
| Bank transfer | Shown on your Cashout page | Shown on your Cashout page |
| Gift cards | From $5. More than 100 brands, including Amazon, Google Play and prepaid Visa | Typically by email within minutes |
| Crypto | Varies by region. Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin | Typically within 24 hours |
Minimums shown are for withdrawals after your first. Methods and amounts depend on your region.
Your first withdrawal
This is the part most people miss. Before your first cash out, Freecash requires three things.
- A verified email. Until you click the link Freecash sends you, the cash out buttons open a verification prompt instead of the withdrawal form.
- An ID check. You verify through Veriff with a government-issued ID and a selfie. Freecash says it takes about five minutes.
- A minimum balance of $5 to $20. It depends on your region. Freecash’s beginner guide uses $20, so plan for the high end unless your Cashout page shows less.
After that first withdrawal, the ID check and the higher minimum go away. You only need enough for the method you pick, which is $5 for PayPal.
How long a payout takes, and what it costs
Freecash says PayPal and Venmo payouts usually process the same day, and gift card codes typically arrive by email within minutes. Crypto withdrawals are typically processed within 24 hours.
PayPal has one extra step. Once your withdrawal clears a security hold, a company called Tremendous emails you a Redeem button, and you confirm your PayPal address there. Check your spam folder if the email does not show up. PayPal cash outs run from $5 to $200 each and carry a 5% withdrawal charge, so taking out $20 costs you $1.
Some payouts take longer. Freecash says it holds some on purpose while it runs security and verification checks, and its terms let it hold offer credits for up to 90 days. Withdrawals are final once you confirm them. For more places to earn each kind of reward, see our guides on how to get free gift cards, ways to earn free PayPal money and how to get free Bitcoin.
How much can you make on Freecash?
We are not going to invent an hourly rate. Freecash publishes its own answer. Its site says most users earn “a few dollars up to around $50 in a typical month,” depending on how much they play and which offers they pick.
Freecash adds that a small fraction of users earn considerably more, and that they put in a lot of time and spend a lot of money to get there. Its Google Play listing says rewards are not guaranteed and that any amounts shown are examples.
So read the big numbers on individual offers as ceilings. Freecash’s own guide showed a Monopoly Go! offer at $215 when we checked. Treat a number like that as the most an offer can pay. Freecash’s own comparison for most people is a coffee and a takeout meal, not a salary.
If up to $50 in a good month sounds worth it for games you would play anyway, Freecash fits. If you need rent money, it will not get you there. For a wider look at what game apps pay, see our list of games that pay real money.

Skip it if you will not hand over a government ID and a selfie, or you want steady money for your time. Our lists of the best survey sites and the best money making apps have options with a lower bar.
Who can join, and what gets an account closed
You must be at least 16, according to Freecash’s terms. Both app stores rate the app 17+, and surveys with sensitive questions are for adults only. If you are younger, our list of surveys for teens has options that will accept you.
Freecash is open in many countries, but it does not work the same way in each. The sign-up bonus, the first withdrawal minimum and the cash out methods all depend on your region.
Accounts are closed for a short list of reasons, and most are easy to avoid.
- More than one account. One per person, and one per household.
- VPNs, proxies and emulators. Anything that hides your real device or location. Fake and internet-based phone numbers are banned for verification too.
- Bots and scripts. Anything that automates taps or play.
- Verifying for someone else. Freecash says that brings a permanent ban.
The terms go further. Freecash can review your account and ask for proof of identity, address or purchases, and it can withhold rewards if you do not answer. It can also disable an account at its own discretion. An account you have not logged into for a year can be closed after 30 days’ notice by email, and the balance expires with it. Cash out as you go, and keep your own records, because the terms say any tax on your rewards is your responsibility.
How Freecash compares with other apps
Freecash’s edge is a deep catalog of game offers and quick cash by PayPal or Venmo. Its weak spots are the first withdrawal hurdle and the 5% PayPal charge. These are the three closest apps we cover.
| App | Pays you for | Pays by | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freecash | Games, apps, surveys and cash back | PayPal, Venmo, bank transfer, gift cards or crypto | ID check and $5 to $20 before your first cash out |
| Testerup | Testing mobile games and taking surveys | PayPal only | For ages 18 and up in the US, the UK and Canada outside Quebec. Payouts take up to 3 business days |
| Swagbucks | Surveys, cash back shopping and games | Gift cards or PayPal | Says it has paid members more than $706 million |
| Bigcash | Games and simple tasks | Cash or gift cards | Pays in coins, and 250 coins equal $1. Says it has paid users more than $20 million |

Our verdict on Freecash
Freecash is legit. A named German company runs it, it has paid users since 2020, and hundreds of thousands of reviewers back that up. It is also a small earner with a real hurdle at the first cash out, a 5% charge on PayPal, and a 2026 app store removal that TechCrunch tied to misleading ads.
We give Freecash 4 out of 5. That is our own rating, not Trustpilot’s. We weighed four things: proof that it pays, the cash out rules, what a typical month earns, and how it handles your account and your data. It scores well on the first. It loses a star for the ID check and minimum on the first withdrawal, the modest typical earnings, and the advertising that got it pulled from the app stores.
Go in for pocket money. Pick games you would play anyway, skip offers that need spending, and cash out as soon as you can. Join Freecash free
